  • Headaches. Increased blood circulation due to hormonal changes in early pregnancy can cause frequent headaches. These aches are usually mild.
  • Constipation. This symptom, quite common during pregnancy, is due to increased progesterone levels, causing food to pass more slowly through the intestines.
  • Cramps. During the first weeks, some women experience abdominal cramps, which are similar to menstrual cramps.
  • Fatigue and tiredness. This symptom is due to increased levels of progesterone in the body. Also low blood sugar levels, low blood pressure, and increased blood production, all together, can lead to exhaustion.
  • High basal body temperature. It consists of the oral temperature when waking up in the morning, which increases shortly after ovulation. If the temperature rise continues for more than two weeks, it may be a sign of pregnancy.
